Early Learning: Preschool & Kindergarten
As the first district in Arizona to offer full day kindergarten at no charge to all students, our program began in 1987. Each classroom is focused on the development of the whole child and school readiness. The Greater Phoenix Urban League also offers Headstart classes on several of our campuses. Our preschool and kindergarten teachers are engaged in professional development to continually augment their knowledge in early childhood education and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction to meet the needs of each child.

Extended Learning Opportunities
Before and after school guided enrichment is offered each school day for students of working parents. Intersession classes during semester breaks and vacations, as well as summer school programs are provided for additional learning opportunities.

Gifted Education
Students identified as gifted participate in the district’s ALPS Program.
