Down Payment Options in a Still-tight Credit Market
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, REALTOR.com has asked me to be a featured blogger; I’m really proud to be one of only a handful of real estate agents featured on the site. This week’s post is about down payment options in a credit market that’s still as tight as Steven Tyler’s leather pants. Conventional lenders have clamped down, but the FHA still guarantees loans with just 3.5% down (which is one reason why 90% of all mortgage loans originated in Maricopa County are backed by the FHA). Read all about it at REALTOR.com. . .
Is It 2006 All Over Again? A Housing Mini-boom
Home prices rose in the Phoenix area for the third straight month in August – a sign that the real estate market may well have hit bottom and caught the recovery wind. The number of homes sold was incredibly strong, too — the number of homes sold was up 16% in Phoenix and 16.1% in Scottsdale.
It’s prompted real estate analyst to dub this a “mini-boom” in the housing market. The “mini-boom” is fueled in part by the rush to buy before the First-time Homebuyer’s Tax Credit expires at the end of November, and in part by still-high foreclosure rates across the Valley. Sturdy Brick Home in Old Town Scottsdale
I just listed a condo at 6840 E 2nd Street in Scottsdale. It’s an adorable condo just a couple of blocks from Old Town. It could also be a great investment opportunity since the price is $65,000. Best of all? “It’s completely made of brick, so it’s sturdy!” Click here to watch the video.
